I am the American Eagle
and I shed a tear with you today.
My wing has been wounded,
and my flight of freedom taken away!
Give me time to repair my wings,
dry my tears and heal some more.
But make "no mistake"
I, the "American Eagle"
will again fly high and Soar!

Wings
of
Remembrance
Those
made of metal that bring us to flight
We shared these common wings
Our colleges that flew in yonder of blue
Aviations best Queens and Kings
Your
metal replaced of feathers for heaven
To soar in the angelic skies
A professional uniqueness that we shared
Gave us our bond that ties
To
your families and friends we offer prayer
With our hearts we share their grief
Loved ones gone away so tragically now
Leaving days of sorrow and disbelief
On
wings of remembrance again we’ll take flight
To the Pilots and Flight Attendants of 9-11
In memory with honor of your bravery not forgot
We salute you as you rest in God’s heaven.

INVEST
IN THE VIRTUE
Now the horror is over (Least we hope that it's done)
Let us steel ourselves to be sure "they've not
won.
At this time we're united and solid as one,
Let's take care to ensure that does not come undone.
Along with the grief we are feeling a surge
Of power and pride that accompanies this merge
Of our hearts and our minds as our egos we purge
Showing loving compassion and vigor and courage.
But let us take heed lest we lose all this zeal
Again being selfish, unable to feel.
We must stick together to be able to heal.
To be one mighty nation that is made out of steel.
I fear we'll return to our sloth and our greed
Our trivial fancies, our vanities feed.
Forgetting each other and how much we need
To be kind to each other and humbly concede
That alone we are nothing, we're weak and we're frail
Alone we are helpless and certain to fail
So don't stop your giving and please don't curtail
The outpour of generous love and goodwill.
Don't return to the rat race, the grind, the mundane
Avaricious and gluttonous and utterly vain
That the victims who've died, causing families such
pain
Should have given those lives to no purpose, in vain.
